March 13th: LPL, LEC

March 12th Recap:

LPL: 4 - 2 (+22.195 units)

TOTAL: 4 - 2 (+22.195 units)

Biggest day of the year to date as our early information on EDG paid off BIG TIME!

LNG and BiliBili ended up being a fascinating contrast of styles just like I'd anticipated with the underdog LNG coming out on top 2-1. I'm not sure if LNG can keep this up but I love when a team has an identity and plays to it. LNG look really sharp. I wouldn't hold this match against Bilibili, they looked pretty good themselves.

LPL (China)

Week 2 - Day 5

Rogue Warriors +172 (+1.5 @ -181)

vs
OMG -260 (-1.5 @ +123)

Lineups:

RW: Crazy, Haro, Ruby, ZWuji, Ley
OMG: Curse, H4cker, Icon, Smlz, cold

OMG look like the real deal. On the first day back from the hiatus, LNG and OMG played an absolute barnburner of a series. Blistering tempo, outplays left and right, the two teams came out guns blazing in a very high level series. Then OMG took it to RNG, losing a tough three game series there to a team that had just completely dismantled TOP and look like one of the cleaner teams we've seen so far in the LPL. Before the break they lost 0-2 to JDG who look bound to be a top of the table team as well.

Rogue Warriors 2-0'd Suning and lost 0-2 to eStar before the break. I wasn't particularly impressed in the 2-0 because Suning really handicapped themselves in both drafts and while game one of the eStart series was bloody, neither was particularly close. I'm still not sure what to think of Rogue Warriors but I had them toward the bottom of the league in my pre-season rankings. ZWuji is the only real redeeming characteristic to this team and he was a bit shaky in their first two series back. That said, we also haven't seen this team since before the break and they'll have the advantage of having seen two full three game series from OMG.

OMG have had a difficult schedule and Rogue Warriors have had not only a ton of time off, but two full series of film to watch on OMG. If it weren't for those factors I'd be absolutely hammering this line because I think OMG are going to end up in the top four or five teams come seasons end. For now we'll limit this bet to a half unit on the -1.5. It's just too easy for Rogue Warriors to have some spicy technology cooked up to steal a game in a first annual meeting between teams like this especially with the aformentioned film/time off advantage.

Spread: OMG -1.5 maps @ +140 (0.5 units)(5Dimes)

Moneyline: OMG -220 (2.2 units)(5Dimes)

Vici Gaming -350 (-1.5 @ -102)
vs
Team WE +236 (+1.5 @ -141)

Lineups:
Vici: Cube, Aix, Zeka, iBoy, Hang
WE: Morgan, Beishang, Plex, Jiumeng, Missing

I'm all for Vici and I think they'll be a pretty good team, maybe even make the playoffs when this is all said and done but this line is just ridiculous. WE really haven't impressed me but they have at least showed me the ability to cleanly close a game with a lead. Now admittedly this was against a team in Victory Five that might be the worst in the league, but they get some credit regardless.

I like what Vici is doing and thought they looked pretty good against RNG but for a team that's still figuring themselves out this line is just outrageous. Give me the value.

Spread: Team WE +1.5 maps @ -141 (1.41 units)

Moneyline: Team WE +236 (0.5 units)

Spread: Team WE -1.5 maps @ +510 (0.1 units)(5Dimes)

FunPlus Phoenix -1408 (-1.5 @ -260)

vs
Dominus +593 (+1.5 @ +172)

Lineups:

FPX: GimGoon, Tian, Doinb, Lwx, Crisp
Dominus: Natural, Xiaopeng, Xiye, GALA, Mark

Don't really have a lot to say. Dominus look VERY unexciting to me and FunPlus have a history of not dropping games to garbage teams like a lot of the elite LPL teams have had a tendency to do over the years.

LEC (Europe)

Week 8 - Day 1

Misfits -313 vs Schalke +222

Vitality +543 vs Origen -1136
Fnatic -422 vs Excel +271
SK Gaming +329 vs MAD Lions -535
Rogue +271 vs G2 eSports -422

I'm going to take a stab at Schalke and Excel as dogs but keep in mind, that favorites are a ridiculous 54-16 this season.

Schalke have been able to outmaneuver people in the mid and late game as well as all but the most elite teams in the LEC. If Misfits are a little bit tight with playoffs on the horizon I could see them playing overly conservative and Schalke stealing one here.

Moneyline: Schalke +230 (0.5 units)(5Dimes)

Excel are in must-win mode and YoungBuck is Fnatic's former coach. The first meeting was super weird but also really close. Could see Excel taking this one.

Moneyline: Excel +290 (0.5 units)(5Dimes)
