February 23rd: LCK, LCS

February 22nd Recap:

LCK: 1 - 4 (-2.5 units)

LEC: 2 - 0 (+2.85 units)
LCS: 0 - 2 (-2.0 units)

TOTAL: 3 - 6 (-1.65 units)

Griffin and Hanwha both made a plethora of stupid decisions in these games but Hanwha just had more forgiving team compositions both times so they ended up winning this series. My pre-season coaching concerns for Griffin are unfortunately becoming a reality. This team shouldn't be this bad. In good news, Hanwha winning more means the fade spots are going be that much more valuable. We'll get ours against this team eventually, they're ok but overrated.

The LEC gave us both our selections although Excel was a real sweat. YoungBuck probably had a stern talking to give as their frontline was playing more like a defensive line than an offensive line so their carries were completely left out to dry while they dove through a Viktor gravity field and under towers multiple times. Game should have been a clean stomp, ended up being a little close. Vitality scored their first win, we stuck to the process and got rewarded at a great number.

The LCS missed both. Immortals could have done a significantly better job in damage controlling their early deficit but the game just got a bit too far away from them. GGs just straight up lost.

On to the next one.

LCK (Korea)
Week 3 - Day 5

KT Rolster +345 (+1.5 @ +124)

vs
Afreeca Freecs -654 (-1.5 @ -129)

KT are an absolute trainwreck right now and as I wrote about recapping their last series, are officially in time out untl they show me they can draft and play to a win condition. Afreeca will almost definitely use some combinations of subs here but they've been doing that all season. Afreeca should stomp this. KT have given me zero faith. I feel so bad for Kuro he's been an absolute god this season and just has nothing to show for it. We should have to pay much more than this number so we're going to pile on. I don't usually like being this heavy on spreads especially in a meta like this but Afreeca should dominate.

Spread: Afreeca -129 (2.58 units)

DAMWON -193 (-1.5 @ +179)

vs
Sandbox +135 (+1.5 @ -187)

DAMWON are a truly infuriating team sometimes but it's also what makes them such a blast to watch. They're tremendously talented but they're dumb as nails in some spots. Sandbox, however, have been struggling of late. Their fascination with Sett has not ended profitably and the constant roster shakes up have led to a tough start. Their last series against Afreeca they stuck to Leo and Gorilla and even took a game off of Afreeca. Sandbox are going to be ok but they have their flaws. They still struggle to play from behind but with a lead they look excellent.

I'm really tempted to take Sandbox here because DAMWON tend to get greedy with scaling which would allow Sandbox to get ahead, a place they're much better at. If you're going to take them that's certainly the reason why. There's also the rivalry between these two teams.

I'm going to have a little faith in DAMWON's coaching staff to set them up in the draft in a way that they won't be trailing by a large amount against a team so good from ahead. I also just think DAMWON are a better team right now even with the mistakes and they've shown some creativity in draft that Sandbox haven't. This is a bit of a gut call but I think DAMWON will get up for this rivalry game and won't be coasting through it especially since they need the wins to keep pace with the rest of the middle of the table with Hanwha having such a solid start.

Moneyline: DAMWON -175 (1.75 units)(5Dimes)

Spread: DAMWON -1.5 maps @ +180 (0.5 units)(5Dimes)

LCS (North America)
Week 5 - Day 2

Evil Geniuses +160 vs Liquid -234

Cloud 9 -654 vs Immortals +345
Golden Guardians +123 vs 100 Thieves -181
CLG +160 vs FlyQuest -234

I'll be on the Golden Guardians against 100 Thieves. Mostly just an eye test kind of a spot where I think it's two roughly even teams, GGs have been playing better of late, and we're getting plus money. Also laying the money with FlyQuest against a CLG team that might eventually improve with Pobelter but currently need to figure themselves out first.
Going to take a shot on Immortals too, feels like at some point Cloud 9 are going to drop one with their higher risk playstyle. Why not a decent team at a good number. Small wager.

Moneyline: Golden Guardians +123 (1 unit)

Moneyline: FlyQuest -234 (2.34 units)

Moneyline: Immortals +435 (0.25 units)(5Dimes)
